COMUNA OR VALENCIA ALMOND

This is the name given to the mixture of varieties or minor varieties whose production is not enough to be marketed as independent varieties. This is the standard of the Spanish almond, and its uses are very diverse in the food industry.

There is a commercial differentiation between the “classic” Comuna varieties and the more modern late-flowering ones, which are mostly derived from Guara, and maintain many of the characteristics of this variety.
